Let me get this straight,

Rod Blagojevich presided over the swearing in of the new Illinois State Senate, next week that same Senate will preside over his impeachment.

A New Jersey couple just had their son Adolf Hitler Cambel taken away from them by Children's Services. Children's Services claim it's not because of the child's name, but won't disclose why they took the couples three children.

President Elect Obama's choice to be Treasury Secretary, Timothy Geithner, is being investigated for Tax Fraud.

The Big Three Automakers, who just got a multi Billion dollar bailout of tax payer money, are lobbing Congress to raise the fuel tax to boost sales of smaller cars that they have to make because it's one of the conditions imposed by Congress for the bailout money.

The Pope plans to release guidelines to authenticate sighting of the Virgin Mary.

And a Man in California called police to help him get his 14-year-old daughter back from the man he SOLD her to, because the man missed a payment.

When did Rod Serling start running reality?

Illinois, A Governor, and the Sword of Power

Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich is not planning on resigning. After all, why should he? The people of Illinois want him there; they voted him into office, signifying by divine right, that he, Rod Blagojevich should wield Excalibur. That is why he is the King!

Eliot Spitzer had the decency to step down. But then he also had the benefit of the knowledge, that he gained when he was New York’s Attorney General and was actively prosecuting prostitution rings, that prostitution is illegal. Blagojevich doesn’t think he did anything wrong.

Sure, putting the appointment to a United States Senate Seat up on e-bay might be going a bit far, but even he didn’t go that far.

I’m sure the Kennedy’s, Cuomo’s and every single union in New York have ‘expressed interest’ with Governor David Patterson for the Clinton Senate Seat that is about to be vacant. During this ‘expression of interest’ I’m sure the interested parties let Governor David Patterson know what the ‘benefits’ are for their candidate of choice.

Surely some of these ‘benefits’ are what’s good (in their opinion) for New York or what’s good (in their opinion) for the Country. But some of it is just as surely what’s good for David Patterson.

So what’s the big deal? All Blagojevich did was define what ‘benefits’ he was willing to listen too. That and ask for cash. Oh, and start the conversation with those he really wanted to talk to.

So three differences, which one crossed the line? It cannot have to do with the taking of a bribe, oops, sorry, considering personal ‘benefits’, because, hell, that’s how we finance campaigns these days.

Was it the cash? We all know that once cash is involved it’s a dirty deal. Then again, politicians are programmed now days to take as much cash from as many people as possible. We call it fundraising to get elected and taxes once elected.

Was it having the balls to make the call first instead of waiting for them to come to him? Blagojevich was just being efficient, getting the ball rolling quickly so as to be able to get back to the work he was elected to do.

Or was is it defining what he wanted? Again, The Governor was just trying to be helpful, and not waste anyone’s time. After all, all those poor folks who were just interested in the good of Illinois and the Country but couldn’t afford the price would know right away not to even try.

No, I’m sure Blagojevich doesn’t think he did anything wrong. In fact, all he did was take what is currently the political norm and go one step further.

Rod, clearly the Chicago Mob/Corruption scene is to tame for someone with your vision and talents. I suggest you name yourself to the Senate Seat, you’d fit right in with the D.C. crowds. Besides, in Chicago you’ll have to put up with those ‘Moral High-Ground’ Illinois Supreme Court Justices, the U.S. Senate Committee will be more understanding.

The Feel Good Philosophy of Failure

One of the hardest things about being a Conservative Republican is being hated, loathed and constantly made out to be the bad guy. Now I know how doctor feel.

Think about it. We as a society have become an emotional, feel good driven people.

How often do we do things just because it instantly satisfies our feelings? And how often are those things good for us? We want something sweet, we eat ice-cream. Given the choice between mashed potatoes smothered in gravy or rice with steamed eggplant, we take the artery clogging potatoes and gravy.

And we don’t do it just for ourselves; we feel the need to do it for everyone. Why look, the poorest of Americans cannot afford to buy their own home. We must make sure that there is a government sponsored program that helps them buy a house.

We conservatives are the ones who advocate not eating the ice-cream. We conservatives are the ones who said changing reality to allow the poorest of Americans buy a house is not a good idea. And we are hated for both.

It all comes down to consequences and results. Consequence is a four-letter-word now days. And results are no longer as important as intentions.

Someone gets heart disease from eating too much ice-cream and it’s the fault of the ice-cream manufacture. The U.S. economy goes into the toilet and greedy Wall-Street is to blame.

Pointing out that the heart disease victim had a choice of what to eat makes you unsympathetic and cold. Laying blame on the good intentions of mandatory government sponsored loan policies gets turned into accusations of Racism and Class-Warfare.

How do we respond to that?

We can do what many of our so called Conservative elected officials are doing, join the Liberals and try to make the irresponsible feel-good decisions they champions a little less destructive. Playing by the bi-partisan rules they so artfully created (that means sacrificing our ideals and beliefs).

Or perhaps we can take a page out of the past, a page out of Ronald Regan’s book. Educate Fight and Win!

I find it amusing that all the people Regan crushed are now claiming that the Regan Republicans are dead. That they cannot win elections anymore, that those ideas should be left behind and not tried again.

The enemy has a weak run defense and they are telling us, to beat them, we need to abandon the run and pass more.

The one thing that Liberalism and Socialism can never stand on is their results. That’s the one thing Conservatives can always stand on and win with.

Or is it just me?

As I sit here looking at yesterday's election results -- maps, vote tallies, exit polls, state and national results, and much more -- I have to say that, like many of you, I'm in a state of shock.

Not because I'm surprised, mind you -- I warned you that this would happen if the Republican Party nominated John McCain for president.

Yes, I was right... but believe me, that doesn't make me happy. What it makes me... is angry.

* Angry at the Democrats, of course. Once again, they ran a campaign full of lies and hate-filled attacks, from Obama's claims that he had "never heard" his racist pastor's anti-American rhetoric over a 20-year period of time, to his claims that his terrorist friend Bill Ayers was "just a guy in the neighborhood," to outright slanderous speech against Governor Sarah Palin... but hey, I expect the Democrats to act that way. It's their nature.
* Angry at the "moderate" (meaning liberal) Rockefeller-wing of the Republican Party, who tried to kill the idea of grassroots involvement of hardworking, patriotic, conservative Americans in our party. There's NO grassroots activism when the Rockefeller wing's philosophy prevails; that wing of the party consists of "kingmakers" operating from behind the throne, while the Reagan wing of the party has always lived and thrived at the grassroots, where the real Americans live. When the Rockefeller-wing philosophy prevails, the GOP loses. When the Reagan wing is in control, we win.
* Angry with President Bush because he was unwilling to stop Republican Congressional leaders from overspending and because his administration failed to lay the blame for the financial crisis at the feet of Rep. Barney Frank and Senator Chris Dodd that protected Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac from reform.
* Angry at the so-called "leaders" of our party, who promised us that if we'd just vote for who they put up for election, we'd finally get what we wanted: smaller government, lower taxes, dramatically lower spending, pro-life laws, pro-marriage constitutional amendments, pro-American economics... well, YOU AND I put them in power, and they gave us nothing but BIG GOVERNMENT, BIG DEFICITS, and LIBERAL COMPROMISES.

As bad as yesterday's election results were, I believe there IS "light at the end of the tunnel" -- I believe we now have the opportunity to finally turn out these fake "leaders" that have betrayed conservatism and given us Barack Obama. It's not time to greave, it's time to fight!

Woke up this morning and for some reason I was not physically ill. The morning after Bill Clinton was elected President I was sick to my stomach. So why with Barrack Obama am I not ill? Clearly he’s going to be a lot worse than Bill. And he’s got a Congress packed with Democrats who will be falling all over themselves to get every leftwing Marxist piece of legislation passed that they possibly can as fast as they possibly can. And there is nothing we can do about it for at least two years.

Ah, there is the rub. Now, after 8 years, finally, we cannot be blamed for anything. No more it’s George Bushes fault. No more excuses for the Democrats. It’s put up or shut up time.

Another Hurricane hit’s the gulf coast and the evacuation does not get pulled off properly. Call the Democrats.

The Hurricane destroys a gulf coast city and the aid isn’t instant and perfect. It’s because Barrack Obama doesn’t like black people. Call the Democrats.

The price of everything goes up and un-employment hits 15% as U.S. companies relocate overseas. Call the Democrats.

The U.S. fails to follow through on its drill-here-drill-now promise and the price of gas goes back up to $5 a gallon. Call the Democrats.

We have an increase of violence in the Middle East and have to commit more troops. Call the Democrats.

The U.S.A. fails to halt Iran’s nuke program and on the 11th hour Israel protects itself with a first strike that wipes Iran off the map. Call the Democrats.

The price of everything goes up and un-employment hits 15% as U.S. companies relocate overseas. Call the Democrats.

In two years when Congress and the President have a combined approval rating of 4 percent, it will be time for us to step up and fix the mess. So, No, Obama as President does not scare me much. The American people will not tolerate a Socialist agenda for long.

I foresee a lot of infighting in the Democrat party.

George C. Scott playing General Patton said it best, ‘the idea of losing is hateful to Americans.’ If Obama pulls out of Iraq we lose and the world will hate us. If he doesn’t his own supporters will hate him.

Obama doesn’t have to worry about re-election for four years, half of Congress and one third of the Senate have only two years. They need him to fix the economy and be popular. Between Biden’s promise of a botched world crisis and the simple fact that Obama’s policies are incapable of fixing the economy, everyone up for re-election will have to fight him if they want to keep their jobs.

And in four year, once he’s lost control of Congress and the Senate, and America has had four years to learn who this guy is (they didn’t know who he was when they voted for him), he is doomed to fall.

All this of course is based on the Republicans fighting him. I mean really fighting him, tooth and nail, educating the American people the whole time and actually running Conservatives, not reach-across-the-isle moderates like John McCain. No Obama does not scare me, the Republicans screwing things up again scares me.
